What to Expect: Blown-in Insulation Process

Before starting, our technicians place tarps from the front door to the attic access point and set up a ladder at the access point. Next, they route the hose from the truck through a window or door closest to the attic access point. They also install corner protectors as needed to prevent the hose from contacting walls or railings. Our team also wears protective gear including shoe covers to protect flooring materials.

For blown-in insulation, we use a commercial-grade, specialized insulation blower. It is a machine that is mounted inside our truck. A long flexible hose is attached to the machine. Inside the truck, insulation materials are poured into the blower. The machine generates powerful pressure that pushes insulation material through the hose. The hose is directed to blow in insulation to targeted areas. Our trained insulation technicians carefully apply even levels of insulation and fill any gaps around joists and in corners.

Once desired insulation levels are achieved, the technician will create a dam around the attic access panel. Next, the access entry is insulated with batt insulation to minimize energy loss at the hatch. An optional insulation tent is available.

Finally, our crews visually inspect the insulation project, clean up the tarps, and remove the ladder.
